Covid 19 Current situation: All You Need to Know

  • The current COVID-19 situation is riding one wave after the other - just when we thought things were simmering down, they seem to be growing up in scale. However, as stressful as things may seem, we need to remember to stay calm and breathe, and remember to be grateful for the thousands of people on the frontline that has set up help centers to aid health, hunger, and help those afflicted, in all kinds of ways. 

  • Here’s a list of useful information for you to keep track of -

  • COVID Dos -

  • Do wash your hands frequently with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds.
  • Do wear medically recognized face masks, or a cloth mask to cover your nose and mouth whenever you are around other people. Even if you are at home and are interacting with visitors, house help, or delivery executives, do wear a mask during your interactions.
  • Do work from home as far as possible.
  • Do maintain six feet distance from people wherever possible.
  • Do exercise often - if possible, take regular walks within your building compound or street, but only if it is not congested with people.
  • Do quarantine yourself for the requisite number of days if you come in contact with a patient who has COVID, or is suspected to have COVID.
  • Do keep a check on your health by tracking your temperature and pulse regularly.
  • Do use disinfectants and cleaners to wipe surfaces that may be prone to the virus.
  • Do hydrate yourself all the time


  • COVID Don’ts -

  • Don’t touch your face, including your mouth, eyes or nose, before washing hands, especially if you have been in a public environment.
  • Don’t underestimate the power of sanitizing your hands and frequently used objects like your phone every now and then.
  • Don’t shake hands with other people.
  • Don’t travel unless absolutely necessary.
  • Don’t indulge in small group gatherings even within your family or friend circle. Limit the interaction any kids in your family may have with other kids as well.
  • Don’t share finger food, utensils, or glasses with other people even within the same household.
  • Don’t pay a visit to elderly people or those with comorbidities as they are at a higher risk of infection.
  • Don’t visit public places like restaurants, gyms, clubs, or theatres, even if they are open in your state.
  • Don’t unnecessarily take a test unless you strongly suspect you have contracted COVID symptoms.
  • Don’t panic.

  • The government has made ample provisions for creating vaccination centres within every State and Union Territories. Apart from private hospitals, every district has several centres that comprise government hospitals and state mandated centres to carry out mass vaccination of the state’s population.
